Our Team
Our mission is to provide affordable housing to qualified veterans, rent relief to reduce financial burdens, and handicap ramps, bathrooms, kitchens, and other improvements to enhance the quality of life.
We have programs for veterans and their families in each community. These programs include community-sponsored special veteran holiday events, informational seminars, movie nights, holiday parties, Bible studies, potluck dinners, recreation activities such as exercise classes, basketball teams, softball, fishing, etc., food distribution programs, veteran outreach programs to assist veterans in the community and at large, veteran resource referrals such as employment, career training, and vet benefits, and resources for home repair and improvements.
In today's difficult economy, with jobless rates reaching numbers not seen in decades, the economic downturn will only be getting worse over the next couple of years. This situation has led to hundreds of thousands of Americans being at risk of losing their homes, and of those individuals who are at risk, a high percentage of them are veterans. To ensure that they stay in their homes, veterans should take some steps such as seeking time-limited supportive services that promote housing stability. Case management includes help securing VA and other benefits such as educational aid and financial planning. Nonprofit agencies and community cooperatives use SSVF funding to quickly house veterans and their families who are homeless and keep
others from slipping into homelessness through referrals and direct outreach.
